I have a client who shared a slideshow on her actual wedding day of her and her husband’s pictures in their dating days. It doesn’t only preserve of their memories being together but it also tells a story to their guests. Not only you can create slideshows for weddings but you can also make a post-Eid slideshow to share it amongst your relatives. Or maybe you can surprise your parents with an anniversary slideshow. Reminiscing this way is often touching. You can even show your kid’s growing up photos in their birthday parties.
Music: Sweet pea by Amos Lee
I just did one for our Aisyah who has just turned 3 last month. I uploaded it to vimeo and her Nenek and Atok can just view it on my blog. heh. If you’re intending to make one of your own, here are some tips:
-
Short is best. We don’t want to bore people to death, rite? Ideally the show shouldn’t be more than two songs or maybe about 7min at length.
-
Choose good photos. Every photo should give that emotional response…at least try to choose photos which make your viewers laugh or maybe cry if they know you well enough.
-
Music is pretty much personal and you may want to choose something meaningful. i would suggest something upbeat but not sickeningly sweet. Slow music will likely make your viewers fall asleep.
Of course, you can always engage me to develop your very own slideshow.
I’m introducing the pixelatedtheory’s motion.grafix to all at $95 (usual: $150).
What you need to do is just snail-mail me a CD with all hi-res photos (rename the images according to the order you want them to be) you want to to feature in your motion.grafix. As a guideline, a 2-3min song can show about a maximum of 65 photos.
Your preferred music can be sent together with the photos in mp3 format or you can request for me to pick a song for you. You’ll also have the opportunity to review the motion.grafix online first.
Once you have given the ‘green light’, you’ll receive a personalised DVD containing your motion.grafix which can be played on most DVD players. An online version of your motion.grafix will also be available for download to be posted on any video-sharing websites such as youtube and vimeo.
Photographers are also welcomed to drop me a note on how we can collaborate and make slideshows for your clients.
